Bruce Arians says Indianapolis Colts warily ready to face Houston Texans – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts coach Bruce Arians has admitted they face the biggest challenge from the Houston Texans but said they are ready and will do their utmost to beat the opposition in front of their home crowd.
Bruce said in spite of the Texans’ recent loss versus the New England Patriots, their level of pride is very high and they are capable of walking over any side anywhere.
The coach said:
"I think they know what's on the line and they've got a lot of pride. They were going to play anyway, whether they won or lost (Monday night. This is a pretty good rivalry and we're going to get everything they've got and their crowd and everybody else."
The Colts are a win away from the playoffs and they know by beating the Texans they can write history by being the only side to finish a season earlier at the worst note of 2-14 to bounce back strongly to progress through to the second round. If they achieve
this feat, there is a fair chance they can further march through the season, but at present they are focusing the playoffs. According to rookie quarterback Andrew Luck:
"For us, a chance to solidify a playoff spot. Obviously the division is not sown up completely from what I understand and it's against, from our perspective, one of the premier teams in the AFC, the Houston Texans. We are going to have to bring our `A' game."
A particular point the Colts should be aware of is that the Texans are coming on the field with a bitter loss behind them and will do their best to rebound on it very strongly. The Patriots’ defeat was too much for the Texans, who before then had only single
loss on the table. They will unleash their attack on the Colts and try to get over with that humiliating defeat. They are already through to the playoffs and do not have much on the stake to lose.
