VfB Stuttgart manager Bruno Labbadia has insisted that his side is in transitional phase and it could take time for the Reds to return back at the top. He admitted that the atmosphere is positive and the players are confident ahead
of the start to the new season.
Stuttgart will be looking to improve on their 12th place finish last year in the Bundesliga and have had a busy summer transfer window. The club have has had a good pre-season campaign and have been impressive in their
German Cup opener as well.
Labbadia claimed that the club is looking forward to the start of the next season. He insisted that he has worked hard with the team in training and have learned from the mistakes made previously. He added that the players will
make sure that the mistakes are not repeated again and will aim for a good season.
“You must prove to the times also, which is sometimes seen to be negative: we are healthy, the club is placed in the positive sense. We do not live beyond our means as many other clubs,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Die Roten have signed the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven and FC Nuremburg respectively to strengthen their lineup this summer. The club has also seen the departures of Patrick
Funk and Christian Trasch in the transfer window.
The manager stated that Stuttgart is in a transition period and returning back to winning trophies would not be an easy task. He also admitted that the club does not have the financial strength to compete with the top clubs in
Europe.
“It has gone awry in recent years some things. It was no coincidence that it fell into the relegation battle. The return to the top of the Bundesliga does not happen overnight. But we cannot compete with the big clubs and their
transfer fees; we just have to hold it,” he concluded.
