The tactician claimed that this is the best form Stuttgart have displayed throughout the season so far. He urged his players to keep up the good work and maintain concentration in order to secure European football for next season.
Labbadia advised his side not to think too far ahead and wants to concentrate on the upcoming game against FC Augsburg. Both sides are set to meet on Tuesday, April 10, at the SGL arena. While talking to PA Sport, the former Bayer
Leverkusen boss further added:
"We are on a great run for Europe and we have been playing great football for weeks, but we cannot get carried away. We must not start talking rubbish - we have to concentrate fully on the Augsburg game."
On the other hand, the manager also commented on his side’s efficient display against the O-Fives. He appreciated the way team made a comeback after going behind inside the first three minutes. The 46-year-old mused that that his
side played extremely well and hopes to take this current form in to the remaining five fixtures of the competition.
"We never gave up for 90 minutes. This was a great game from my team. The way we coped with going behind was sensational. We didn't just power our way back, but played intelligent football," Labbadia concluded.
Stuttgart are currently fifth in the Bundesliga with 43 points, nine points clear of fourth placed Borussia Monchengladbach. A top seven finish will guarantee them a place next season in Europe.
The Swabians progress is being closely monitored by Werder Bremen, Hannover, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen as only three points separate these fives sides. Apart from Augsburg, Stuttgart are yet to play Bremen, Koln, Bayern Munich
and Wolfsburg before the season ends next month.
