Bruno Senna explores options outside F1 – Formula 1 news
Former Williams’ driver, Bruno Senna is still looking forward to secure a race seat for the 2013 Formula 1 season, but is also exploring other options as a backup to remain in the world of autosport.
Senna could not perform well for his team in this season and struggled with his pace throughout the year. Moreover, he also caused few accidents and faced immense criticism over his rough driving style.
On the other hand, his teammate, Pastor Maldonado also failed to attain promising results for his team with consistency. However, he successfully claimed his maiden victory in the Spanish Grand Prix and brought the Grove based squad their first win since
2004.
Additionally, he became the first ever Venezuelan driver to win a race in F1 and received a lot of appreciation. Besides, he has a backing of a huge sponsor which has made his position stronger as compared to Senna.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian driver is not feeling upset and is still aiming to stay in the sport for next season. Furthermore, according to many reports, he is also evaluating other options which mainly include DTM.
It will be interesting to mention that Romain Grosjean’s future is also uncertain in Lotus as they have not confirmed his race seat for the next season. Meanwhile, the French driver has expressed that he is not expecting any kind of favours from anyone.
In addition, he said that he has learnt a lot and he knows very well that there is a very tough competition amongst the drivers for race seats in F1.
“It's also the case with banking and watch-making. There is no room for mercy,” Grosjean said. “Seats in F1 are scarce; there are no presents.”
“[I learnt] a lot. More than what I thought [possible],” the Frenchman said. “The world of F1 is more difficult than I imagined. When I returned, I saw that there was a mountain to climb.”
“And once I started to climb, I saw how high it really is,” he added.
Let’s see whether the Brazilian and the Frenchman will be able to secure race seats in the coming season or not.
