Bruno Senna inspired by Felipe Massa – Formula 1 news
Bruno Senna, who drives for Williams F1 racing team, has been greatly inspired by Ferrari’s Felipe Massa who fought his way back in the team.
Both Senna and Massa not only share in common to be Brazilians but also they both have had to deal with similar situations in the current season. Both drivers have been facing difficulty in putting up impressive performances from the start of this season
while their teammates stayed ahead of them.
Massa’s teammate Fernando Alonso had been leading the drivers’ championship only to be taken over by Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel. He still is in for the title standing at second position.
On the other hand, Massa had been bringing on some miserable performances and had been unable to score any podium finish for almost two years. Luca di Montezemolo, who is the team President, admitted that it was unthinkable to retain Massa until the middle
of the season.
In the face of all odds, Massa highly impressed his team with his driving in the Japanese and Korean Grands prix where he scored strong finishes. This led the team to clear the uncertainty about his place with it and was given another year’s deal just recently.
Senna, who now is going through similar speculation, wants to keep on fighting for his place just like Massa.
“Felipe had a tough first part of the year, and in his own head he was thinking too much about that. But suddenly having a race in which you get a podium or good result can take some of the pressure away and you start driving much better. Felipe had two
strong races in a row (second in Japan and fourth in Korea) and now he is under much less pressure in everything. Ideally I'd like to make sure I have a seat for next year and you always want a competitive car, which is pretty natural,” said the Brazilian.
The driver has stated that he needs to get the pressure out of his mind and focus on the upcoming races. Only then he will have a chance to stay with Williams next year.
