Bruno Senna laments Indian GP organisers after seeing a stray dog – Formula 1 news
Bruno Senna said he could not believe his eyes when he saw a dog managing to get on the track during the Friday practice run at the Indian Grand Prix.
Senna might have felt a Déjà vu on the cards, as in 2008 he found himself in one such similar situation during a GP2 race in Turkey, where a dog had managed to get on the track. Unluckily, Senna crashed his car because of the animal’s intrusion.
Although the session was stopped by waving the red flag, Senna was still rightfully angry at the organisers for letting such an incident occur,
“For sure, in the drivers' briefing I'll make sure to raise the issue,” he said. “It's funny because when I arrived at the track I saw that exact dog walking around the entrance to the paddock. But the fact that the dog actually got on the track is just
difficult to believe.”
“Anyway, we can see now that they are taking it very seriously since my incident in 2008 by red flagging the session, they are taking the precautions. Let's hope that they pay more attention to uninvited animals on the track,” he added.
Overall, the practice sessions were fine and without any issues. Talking about his performance, Senna mentioned that he was much happier with his Renault now than he had been in the practice sessions as he faced some issues with the setup of his car.
He further added that there were no major issues with the car, which was good for team. At the moment, he is focused on learning the track better, and that is something that is going to play an important role in the qualifiers.
So far, it has been exciting during the practice runs and now that the race is a fortnight away, we are getting to know which team cars are better suited for the conditions at hand. The Buddh International Circuit will host its first-ever Grand Prix race
on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
