Bruno Senna says he does not have any nerves going into the 2012 season – Formula 1 news
Bruno Senna says he is more relaxed going into the 2012 season as he has ever been.
Senna joined Williams after some good performances in the previous season, and the backing of sponsors secured his place.
The Brazilian says that he much calmer over his chances in the season because he has had a good pre-season performance.
Senna said that he is really excited to perform in the upcoming season and cannot wait for the Australian Grand Prix.
Now it is less than a day to start driving, so the blood starts to boil and the heart starts to race.
“I think it is a very different beginning to everything I have done before in Formula 1, and I feel much more relaxed than I did the previous two times. But, at the same time, I feel much more excited because everything is a bit more straightforward I must
say - so it is very interesting and I am looking forward to tomorrow,” he said.
Williams has come up with a solid car, and are banking on it to promote them higher up the ranks. The previous season for the team was very poor due to a less competitive car. Rubens Barrichello arguably lost his race seat with the team due to the Williams
car.
“My car has been very reliable and that enabled me to conclude almost 100% of the test programme that we were supposed to do,” he added.
Senna admitted that 2010 was very poor for him and he barely survived the season, while also maintaining that 2011 was a much improved performance. He said that he showed that he had the potential and he has been given the opportunity by Williams to improve
upon that.
He also added that 2012 might become integral to his careers longevity as a good performance in the season will enable him to prolong his career.
It remains to be seen how Senna fares during the season, if his confidence is indicative of anything it shows that it will be a good season for him.
The season starts on March 18th 2012, with the opening race to be the Australian Grand Prix.
