Bruno Senna says he expected Paul di Resta to give him space at the Monza circuit – Formula 1 news
Bruno Senna of Williams believes that he could have achieved a better position at the Italian Grand Prix, if Paul di Resta of Force India had not pushed him off the track.
The Williams driver said that he had his front wing next to the car of Di Resta and he was pushed of the circuit. He added that a driver has been banned for doing such a thing. Besides, he said that he respects the decision of the stewards but he does not
think what Di Resta did was right.
Senna said, “It was pretty clear. I had the front wing of my car next to his car and then under braking he squeezed me off the track and we touched. Fortunately we didn't launch each other.”
Furthermore, he said that he expected that the Force India Driver would give him room. He added that he does not expect anything from the stewards because it is their decision and not his. Additionally, he said that he does not push people off the track
and expects the same from his competitors.
He said that he would put this question at the next drivers’ briefing to better understand the rules.
“It's important to raise these points and try to understand why the decision was taken one way and the other was taken another way. We'll see but it won't change the result of today but hopefully it will change the result of similar situations in the future,”
he said.
Furthermore, Senna said that they were not positive about the Monza circuit, yet they managed to score a point and he is pleased about it. He added that if they had developed more aggressive strategy then they could have attained more points.
Moreover, he said that they were afraid of the wearing out of tyres but situation was not the same on the circuit as they were not comfortable with their track position. He added that he learned from the experience how the tyres felt and how could he give
useful feedback to his team. He added that the upcoming races are scheduled on circuits which use maximum down force and they are very comfortable on such circuits.
He managed to finish the Italian Grand Prix at the 10th position. Let’s see how he performs at the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix.
