Bruno Senna says he wants to stay at Renault beyond 2011 season – Formula 1 news
Lotus-Renault driver Bruno Senna has said that he wants to stay at his current team beyond the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Senna added that he is trying his best to do better for Renault and focusing on handling the pressure at the moment. He further stated that he wants a deal with the Enstone-based outfit for his future.
Moreover, the Brazilian mentioned that he wants to go better and better every race, but sometimes like the weekend in Korea, they had a difficult situation and it put him in a bad position in the end.
The team driver started his Korean Grand Prix from the 15th position on the opening grid and after battling it out with his rivals, he ended up in the 13th spot.
Senna commented, “There is always more pressure the further you go in to the season to have results because in theory you should be always getting better and better and better.”
He went on to mention, “But I need to be quite careful with that, because even I had forgotten last weekend that it was only my fifth race. I'm competing against guys who have done 17 races in the same space of time, and if I don't give myself a break sometimes
by having a few difficulties - and there will be difficulties all the time - then I might struggle with my head.”
Apart from that, the 28-year-old driver added that he wants to do well for his team in the last three rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season. He stated that it is important for him at the moment to race well for Renault, as he wants to be with them beyond the
2011 year.
Senna talked to the media and added that he thinks did a good job for Renault so far and therefore, he hopes the team will select him in the 2012 drivers’ line-up.
In the Friday Practice session 1, Senna took 13th position for Renault, while he claimed eighth place for the team in FP2 of the 2011 Indian Grand Prix after running at the recently unveiled Buddh International Circuit.
Let’s see how Senna performs in FP3 of the Indian race weekend, which will take place on Saturday, October 29 in India.
