Bruno Senna thinks he deserves more than he has accomplished – Formula 1 news
Bruno Senna believes that his performances in the current season deserve more points than he has been able to achieve so far.
Senna has been able to score 18 points after 10 races have been completed in the season while his teammate Pastor Maldonado has been able to score 29 points. The major difference though is that Maldonado has been able to secure his maiden victory in the
season.
“I have been in very tough situations this year and still managed to have good races,” Senna told AUTOSPORT. “I just feel that we deserve more points from those races. I'm happy with how the races have gone, and I've been making few mistakes. If we can continue
like this I'm sure we can start scoring some very serious points, and that's the aim.”
Senna has struggled since the start of the season as he finished 16th at the opening race of the season in Australia. He did well at the Malaysian GP to score six points. The Brazilian went on to score six more points at the Chinese GP but then struggled
in the next race at Bahrain.
He had to retire in the Spanish GP as he crashed his car, then he came back at Monaco to feature in the top 10 scoring a single point. The Canadian GP did not bear any fruit for him as he went pointless. The European leg of the season has been disappointing
as well as he was only able to score three points in the three races completed at Valencia, Silverstone and Hockenheim.
Senna believes he can improve in the remainder of the season. He added that the team has been doing all it can do to make improvements. The car has a good base and if he can keep up scoring points consistently, he will be able to get the desired results.
“There has been a shift from last year in terms of how qualifying and race performances went,” he said. “Last year I struggled a lot in the races and this year I'm struggling in qualifying.”
It will be interesting to see how Senna fares as the season progresses.
