Bruno Senna thrilled about having home support at the Brazilian GP – Formula 1 news
Bruno Senna, who drives for Williams F1, is excited about the Brazilian Grand Prix as he will have the advantage of being on the home ground.
Senna, who is also the nephew of late Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna, has previously driven two times over the Interlagos circuit.
“I'm extremely excited to go back home for the final race of the season,” said Senna. “Racing at your home Grand Prix always has a different flavour to it and the energy and excitement you get from the crowd is amazing. I've only had the chance to race at
home in Formula One twice, but on both occasions the crowd gave me an extra boost. Interlagos is a circuit that most drivers like.”
The driver told that the circuit was particularly exciting as it is very technical and forces you to drive well to have a good race out of it. Senna also admitted that his team has been improving performance gradually during last few races and they intend
to carry on in a similar way in the last race of the season. He stated that the team was aiming for both drivers to secure points finish.
Senna’s teammate, Pastor Maldonado, who is of Venezuelan nationality, has also expressed similar excitement about heading to Brazil. He is of the opinion that there cannot be a better circuit to drive on for the last race of the season. He stated that the
race is going to be thrilling for him as he can relate the atmosphere of Brazil to his own country. Maldonado also admitted that fans in Brazil are one of the most passionate and have a good knowledge about F1. He added that the team is looking forward to
close the current season on strong result and head into the next season with improved momentum.
Williams F1 presently stands at eighth position with 76 points on the constructors’ grid while Maldonado is at fourteenth position trailed by Senna in the sixteenth place. Maldonado is aiming to improve his position on the drivers’ grid. The team still has
not confirmed its driver line up for the next season.
