Bruno Senna’s future in Williams seems uncertain – Formula 1 news
Williams’ executive director, Toto Wolff has said that they have not made the final decision about their 2013 driver line-up due to which Bruno Senna’s future in the team seems quite uncertain.
Wolff has recently said that he is really impressed by the performance of their test driver, Valtteri Bottas in the Young Driver Test which was held at Silverstone circuit. Moreover, he said that they are considering providing Bottas a race seat in their
team and the reports are stating that the British squad is looking forward to replace Senna with the Finn in the coming year.
In addition, he said that they are not sure about their driver line-up for next season while he said that they are hoping to come to the conclusion regarding this matter in about one month’s time.
"We are taking different looks at the issue, but the minute we discuss it we are going to mess up Pastor and Bruno - and maybe others that we try talking to," Wolff said when asked whether Williams would stick with the same line-up. "I would give it another
month before we are going to have the first idea of what we want."
It will be important to note that the Grove based team has given very high ratings and appreciations to their third driver in the season so far. Furthermore, the Finnish driver has himself expressed that he is prepared to race for his team in the next season.
Additionally, the Austrian has said that Bottas has got some amazing talent and capabilities and he absolutely deserves a race seat in the future which implies that there are huge chances that he may drive as Pastor Maldonado’s teammate in the coming season.
Currently, Williams are standing at 8th position in the constructors’ championship with 54 points. Besides, they are ahead of Toro Rosso and are behind their main rival, Force India.
Above and beyond, they surely stand amongst one of the strongest midfield contenders in this year’s championship and it will be interesting to see how their drivers, Senna and Maldonado perform in the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend.
