Brushes not spinning....

Hi, i have the roomba 4210 discovery. Both brushes stopped working. Everything works fine except for the brushes. I called roomba technical support and they said i need a new one, because i damaged something that makes the brushes spin. They weren't very helpful at all. Please help.
