Brushing your rubber bands?[braces]?

Question

okay, so i don't mean the rubber bands you take in and out of your mouth and that go on hooks, i mean the rubber bands that only your orthodontist can take out of your mouth. and can change your colors type. whenever i go to the orthodontist, thats where my plaque always is. on my rubber bands. how do i get to clean my rubber bands throughly so that my i dont have any plaque on them??

There are these awesome little tools you can buy at the store (they look like mini pipecleaners, but they're for this sort of thing, and work really well.)
Another thing that works really well is if you take a safety pin (one of the really small ones) and it will fit under the wire to take stuff out of the rubber bands (colored ties)
