Bryan Brothers eyeing second Olympics gold medal – Tennis News
Bryan Brothers are limbering themselves up for yet another title in London Olympics, later this year. Mike will be turning 34 the next month and his twin brother Bob will be of the same age two minutes later. They are aging but
not giving up on stacking titles under their belt. They have occupied to top spot for almost 300 weeks now and this landmark will not be broken for another decade or two, as they are still going good.
This is what Bob had to say about their aims of life when they were young guns, “In our 20s, nothing would come between our career. We wouldn't change our schedule to fly home to see our girlfriend. That doesn't mean we still don't
hate to lose. We still don't sleep for three days after a loss. But having a baby and Mike being engaged has put stuff in perspective. It feels like you're working out here for a bigger team."
Talking about Olympics gold, he stated, “It takes a lot of pressure off us, knowing we have that medal in the trophy case. We'll have the same kind of enthusiasm, but there won't be that same kind of burn that we don't have a medal."
They are definitely a force in the doubles category and they are still going extremely well at the moment. Although they were drowned by the duo of Ivo Karlovic (Croatian) and Frank Moser (German) in the quarter-final of the Delray
Beach International Tennis Championship on Thursday, they are still the best team in the world.
Bob admired the fact that they are a lot of cool teams in the world of tennis especially the likes of Andy Murray and Jamie Murray but they will definitely try their best to make sure they can come up with a triumph in the Olympics
later this year and double their tally of gold medals. He further stated that whenever they march towards the Centre Court of Wimbledon, they get goose bumps.
They are definitely the hot favourites to win the contest.
