Bryan Brothers join Eric Butorac to raise money for charity – Tennis News
Most successful doubles team in tennis history, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, helped their compatriot, Eric Butorac, to raise funds during the latter’s fourth annual charity event.
Bryan Brothers and three more American tennis professionals Nicholas Monroe, Brian Battistone and Michael Yani came on Butorac’s invitation to help him raise funds for inner city tennis programs in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Speaking to the audience at the event, Butorac said, “It feels so great to give back to the Minnesota tennis community. It is the place where I enjoyed most of my tennis development and hope that many others can share the same
opportunities that I had.”
Around 1000 attendants turned out for the event, which featured a doubles match between Bryan Brothers and Butorac/Monroe. The charity event also included a VIP reception, doubles Pro-Am and a clinic.
Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center, Inner City Tennis, Saint Paul Urban Tennis and the Rochester Boys and Girls Club gave donations. A total of more than $50,000 was raised on the day of this event.
Butorac was highly thankful to Bob, Mike, Monroe, Battistone and Yani for helping him in this noble cause. The American hailed all of them for taking time out of their daily routine to come to Minnesota and join the event.
He stated, “I'm lucky to have friends who are willing to take time in their short off-season to come to Minnesota and help raise money for such a great cause.”
The event, which was named Minnesota Tennis Challenge, was hosted by Wayne Bryan at Life Time Athletic in Eden Prairie. All the three previous editions of this charity event were also quite successful and it can be improved further
if Butorac keeps getting help of the tennis stars like this.
The American is also a successful tennis player, winning a total of 13 titles in his career. The 31-year-old is currently on the 41st position in the world rankings. The left-hander partnered local star, Bruno Soares,
to win the Brasil Open in 2012. He also gave a runners-up performance with Australia’s Paul Hanley at the Thailand Open.
