Bryan brothers visit Family Hospital in Shanghai
The American number one tennis duo of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan made a visit to the United Family Hospital in Shanghai to meet the youngest patients there on Wednesday.
The twin brothers from the United States of America remained the number one doubles pair for a record two hundred and one weeks in the past. From 2005 to 2006, they together set a record in the Open era by playing in seven men’s doubles Grand Slam title
battles in a row, three of which they captured in the end. Earlier this year in February, the left and right handed combination registered another open era record of six hundred match victories by getting the better of Taylor Dent and Ryan Harrison in the
final four of the Delray Beach ATP 250 competition.
At the year’s final Grand Slam, the United States Open in New York, the American duo of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan captured the ninth crown of their career, only two short of Woodies, after thrashing out the Indian- Pakistan pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq
Qureshi in the title battle in two sets. The final match score was 7–6(5), 7–6(4).
They next competed at the 2010 China Open in Beijing as their first tournament since Flushing Meadows. They successfully extended their winning streak to 18-0 with a final victory over Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg in two sets. The final match
score was 6–1, 7–6(5). The Americans, as a result captured their tenth crown of the year on 10th October 2010.
After this successful trophy defence, they are now playing at the Shanghai Rolex Masters in China where the twins spent some time in talking and signing autographs with the young patients and their families on Wednesday prior to their discussion about this
week’s 2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters doubles men’s competition with the hospital staff as well as the doctors.
The top ranked duo from the United States of America have already successfully qualified for the season ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, which is going to take place from November 21st up till November 28th, 2010.
