Bryan twins to participate in the 2012 US Men’s Clay Court Championship – Tennis News
Bryan brothers have confirmed their participation in the US Men’s Clay Court Championship in 2012. They have been consistently performing in this tournament and have clinched this title on four occasions. It’s one of those rare
tournaments that allow the twin brothers to stay at home and contest in front of the local crowd. They are on route to different parts of the world throughout the year to contest several tournaments considering their outstanding legacy in the field of tennis.
Recently they jointly surpassed the record of becoming the longest reigning world number one doubles players beating the 271 weeks long record of another tennis legend John McEnroe. They hold the record of most title wins at US
Men’s Clay Court Championship and will look to add another title to their tally by winning next year’s tournament.
The only rare time when Bryan brothers didn’t participated in this tournament was in 2008. Other than that they have been extremely efficient, butchering their rivals and maintaining an emphatic 24-6 record at River Oaks Country
Club, Houston, USA.
The tournament is scheduled to be contested from April 9-15, 2012 that will also feature the likes of Sam Querrey and American number one, Mardy Fish. Bryan twins will try to hold on to their sixteen matches’ unbeaten streak in
the tournament and will definitely be looking forward to prolong it as much as they can.
Tournament Director, Van Barry, was excited to have such a great line-up for the tournament and stated on the official website of the tournament, “As a USTA national championship, it’s certainly important to us to have top American
players in the tournament. The Bryans, Sam and Mardy are not only great players but good ambassadors for the game. We look forward to hosting them all at River Oaks in April.”
Sam Querrey is another outstanding showstopper at this arena and was the singles as well doubles finalist in 2010. He was unfortunate on both occasions as he lost to the world number one, Bryan twins, in the doubles category whereas
his title dreams were shattered by Juan Ignacio Chela in the singles grand finale.
Mardy Fish ended this year at the eighth spot in the world rankings and participated in the year-end finale at O2 Arena in London. Although, his performance was dismal yet his year has been terrific and he will definitely look
to prove his worth at his soil in April next year in US Men’s Clay Court Championship.
