Bryce Harper quote declared best sports line of 2012-MLB Update
ESPN.com has termed Bryce Harper’s quote the number one sports line of 2012.
Harper retorted to a reporter on being questioned that “will he make use of the favourable drinking age limit in Canada".
His witty reply was so incredible that it remained as the topic of discussion for the fans throughout the rest of the last season.
Harper had an amazing 2012 season campaign. While he was a part of some controversies, he managed to post impressive offensive numbers.
Above all, he won the Rookie of the Year Award at the end of the season.
His major league debut came with a lot of hype about his extra ordinary talent at such a young age.
For the same reason, every time he struck a home run or a couple of hits in a match, experts started making speculations about the possibility that he will become the legend of the game one day.
Besides showing tremendous power and speed, Harper made his name as one of the most outspoken players in the Major League Baseball.
Being a 19-year old, he was at times taken for granted by others established players but the way he handled tough situations was remarkable.
On being deliberately hit by the starting pitcher of the Philadelphia Phillies, Cole Hamels, he did not lose temper.
Instead, he kept his composure as he went on to play normal game.
On the other hand, there were some situations in which he reacted unexpectedly.
When the reporter in Toronto put Harper in a difficult situation by asking about drinking, it seemed he will be trapped.
To everyone's surprise, he took the attack to the reporter by saying the following line, which has now become the best sports quote of 2012.
“That’s a clown question, bro,” said Harper.
As far as his preparations for the 2013 season is concerned, Harper will be looking to build on what he has achieved so far.
He will like to avoid committing mistakes that caused his decline for some time during 2012.
Certainly, the Washington Nationals pin high hopes on him. Meeting the expectations will be a challenge for Harper.
Fans will be looking forward to another remarkable season from Harper.
