Bt internet?

I`ve been with BT internet for about 2 years,They persuaded me to upgrade to 8 meg broadband,and told me it would only cost me 2 pounds extra per month .however when I got my last bill they had charged me the full price ..24-99 per month, when I complained they said it would be made right and would be deducted from my next bill..unfortunately this is`nt the case and I am being charged the same ...despite 3 E-mails and a conversation on the phone I am being being cut off because I refuse to pay my bill until this is sorted!did BT break the contract and am I in the right!?

  2. I too had problems with BT broadband and BT in general.  Farming out their customer service to India was a HUGE mistake.  After being a BT customer for 30 years, I have taken my business elsewhere.

    To answer your question, BT has billed you incorrectly for your broadband.  Your contract was for one price and they have tried to charge you something different.  You do not suggest they have overcharged you for your telephone account so you needed to pay that anyway.  I think you should have paid the amount you agreed to pay instead of refusing to pay EVERYTHING.

    It's frustrating, I know and you really shouldn't have to deal with a company that incompetent but you put yourself in the wrong if you fail to keep to YOUR side of the bargain.  Better to sort it out BEFORE you get cut off if possible.  Good luck.

  3. We had the same problem. BT are a total nightmare, you'll probably be trying to get your point across and getting put on hold for the next few months, they'll say it's sorted then they'll still charge you. In the end, we switched to Sky.

  4. there is a reason why it is so difficult to contact Bt it is because Bt offers poor service and when you want to complain they make dam sure it is nigh impossible to do so NEVER take out a contact with them it takes away your power to move from them when things go wrong that's why they make you sign up for 18 mths

  5. the thing about bt broadband all options are the same speed unless u went max the options are higher in price as in option 3 u get a homehub and free virus protection and unlimited downloads ,do yourself a favour get rid of it and get virgin media broadband faster speeds and you dont even need to buy any other services

  6. it does sound like it was a mistake in the billings dept and in the info the advisor placed on your order.

    Ring their broadband customer options team on 0800 800 030 they will sort it out and change the package price to what you were offered.

    Every company does have problems and people can make mistakes but this should be quite easy to rectify for you.

    Just a word of advice to if you have entered into a new contract and the service is being disconnected due to non-payment then your service provider has the right to charge you terminations fees. Non payment would also go onto credit file and will make it harder for you in the future to receive services that require credit checks.

    BT are a waste of space i just in the process of cancelling BT Broadband and phone line.. i will never go back!!  Rubbish Customer Service and Expensive!!!

  8. its fine with me but i have then cheaper 1. plus it may not be 8meg unless u live nxt door 2 the centre.
