Bt phone line?

can anyone tell me roughly how much it will cost to get a bt phone line extension for upstairs?

I'm moving in with someone and bringing my pc with me but need to have phone line for upstairs as the bt line is in the downstairs hall..

when you call the phone company..they will quote you a price and you can negotiate...if they can bundle your packages or sell you some feature they will throw in extension as a xtra..

HINT....when the tech comes out..HE is the one that determines the charges ..it is he or she that can show the work he actually does ..be nice and offer a drink or a tip..and your work could be free..

Hi,

If you want BT to do it you are looking at about £130.00, I would look in your local paper, as you should find a private engineer who will do this for you for a lot less, or it can be done yourself for about £15.00 for 10 mtrs or so.

There is no reason why you couldn't run the extension line yourself. All you will need is an adapter for the main downstairs box, cable which can be attached to skirting boards and the box upstairs, all these can be purchased in shops that deal with telecoms.
