Bubba Watson and Justin Bieber are close friends – Golf News
Bubba Watson has recently said that the only person he talked to on the phone after he registered his first major victory at the Masters Tournament was Justin Bieber. This also revealed that both of them are best buddies since a very long time.
Justin also told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover in an interview, aired on March 27, that Watson is one of his good friends and they talk to each other every day on the phone.
Following his statement, he was asked about his interest and the skills of playing golf. He replied:
“I’m all right at golfing, I’m not the greatest,” Justin, who said he has a seven or eight handicap, explained. “Bubba says I’m terrible…I think his wife did beat me… but, she’s a player, she can play!”
The statement of both being friends was confirmed when Watson told that he received a call from Justin a night after he registered the win. Apart from Justin, Selena Gomez was also there to talk to him on the phone.
“Justin Bieber is the only person I talked to on the phone that night after I won,” Watson said. “He called me and I talked to him on the phone and he and Selena were congratulating me, and it was a big honour that they would both call me and talk to me”.
He was also asked about Justin’s ability of playing golf to which he replied by avoiding the real question. He just played with the question and said, “Man, he can sing and dance”.
Watson is currently enjoying the best form of his career and he gave the credit of his victory to the Ping pink G20 driver that helped him gain 300-plus-yard distance on his drives.
In the Masters Tournament, he was tied with Louis Oosthuizen on the top of the leaderboard to enter the sudden death playoffs.
Both the players pared the first holes they played and the result was decided on the second hole.
Oosthuizen missed the par putt and went for the bogey. Therefore, Watson had his ball on the green with two putts remaining, to wear the green jacket that he successfully did in the end.
