Bubba Watson leading the Zurich Classic - Golf news
American player, Bubba Watson, is leading the Zurich Classic after posting a four under 68 in the second round. The player managed to secure the lead in windy conditions as he is now 10 under 134 total at TPC Louisiana. Right behind the leader, Josh Teater
posted a 66 in the second round.
Watson didn’t have any plans of playing this tournament but was talked into it by his Mother. Bubba Watson’s mother, Molly, wanted to see her son play and hence he took part in the tournament which was four hours from home.
The player, known for his long-hitting skills, started with a bang as he made an eagle on the second hole of the round. Making an eagle on the par -5 11th, the player made a 4-foot birdie putt for the 13th hole and a 13-footer for a
birdie on the fourteenth hole. The only slip of the day was when the player bogeyed hole number eighteen. The front nine were average as Bubba only made one birdie on the seventh hole to finish for 10 under overall after the second round.
Watson’s first round was even more impressive as the player also made an eagle on his second hole. Also, Watson made six more birdies and two bogeys in the opening round.
In second place, Teater dropped two strokes as he made a double bogey on the par 5 18th. That double was interesting becauses the golfrt, using a 6-iron, made the shot as it sailed right and bounced in the water near the green. His fifth shot
ran 22 feet from the hole as he used a two-putter for the double bogey. As for other players, John Rollins was eight under after a 69 whereas Dean Wilson is tied at seven under with four other players. Wilson matched the course record yesterday as he posted
a 64 to tie with Matt Jones, Webb Simpson, Jason Dufner and John Senden.
All in all, the second round was surely interesting to follow. With Watson not leading by a huge margin, anything can be expected from the remaining rounds of the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic.
