Bubba Watson to defend his title at Farmers Insurance Open
The field is set for the upcoming tournament of the Farmers Insurance Open and Bubba Watson will seek to defend his title from January 26 to 29, 2012.
The upcoming tournament of the Professional Golf Associations Tour (PGA) is well known for its $6,000,000 purse and the prize money of $1,044,000.
The tournament will be played at the Torrey Pines (South Course), La Jolla, California. The 18-hole golf course is one of the finest and toughest courses in the US and the rating for the course is also competitive.
Bubba Watson won last year’s tournament by 16-under par and 272 strokes in total. He defeated another world class golfer Phil Mickelson, meanwhile Dustin Johnson secured the third position on the leaderboard.
Watson had a one-stroke lead on the final day game play and a three-stroke lead over Johnson. His performance was appreciated by the spectators.
Observers and fans have already pinned high hopes on Watson, as he was the shining star of 2011.
Keeping in mind his past performance, he is considered capable of securing the title once again.
The 33-year-old American professional golfer amazingly secured last year's title and the prize money by the scoring an average of 71%, one of the highest on the field.

"I'm disappointed," Mickelson said after securing the second position. "I wanted to start the year off with a win. On the other hand, I played really good golf".
