I have seen them in peoples tank, but I don't know anything about them...

I have seen the rocks, wands, treasure chest, and sunken ship bubblers

Would they be beneficial for my tank? And how do I set one up?

  1. it is a debate between many people "are they useful?" i believe they are beneficial when i first got one my fish seemed healthier and swim faster. i unplugged it and after 5 mins. the fish slowed down.  i believe it puts lots off oxygen in the water. but i don't use any fancy things i just put a bubble stone in so you don't really have to spend a ton of money. and if you don't like the look of the tubing get a tall plant in front of the tubing. and it looks cool because you can see all the bubbles coming up. and my fish even seem to like playing in them. especially my guppy fry. they swim into the bubbles and get pushed up and fall back down but they right back in like it never happened i don't think they learn8D hope this helps! Setting them up is simple- all you have to do is put a bubble stone on the end of the tube, drop it in the tank, and plug the pump in.

  2. They're beneficial to your tank in that the bubbles, when they burst, break the water surface and help oxygenate the water.  They're easy to set up, just get a pump, a check valve (keeps water from siphoning into air pump), tubing and whatever decorative bubbler items you want.

Pay attention to how many devices the pump says it can power- you can often use a few bubblers on a single pump, but you don't want to over-do it, and you also need to keep in mind that you'll need to get valves to make multiple outlets if using multiple devices.

The pump is the most expensive piece in all this, and that's not that expensive, really.  It's a cheap and easy way to beautify your tank and get more oxygen in the water.

  3. i have a air pump and the name brand is air tech=2ko  and its really good and pumps alot of water.

  4. Any time you can get some water movement at the surface, it will be beneficial to your fish.  Water movement is how oxygen is absorbed into the water from the atmosphere so the fish can breath it.

If you have a good filter that is moving the water good as it comes back into the tank, a bubbler is not necessary.  However, they do look cool and whatever catches your fancy will just add to the look of your tank as it adds to the water movement.
