Bubbly Bellini to crush the British sprinters’ challenge in the Paddy Power Sprint (Premier Handicap)
The Paddy Power Sprint (Premier Handicap) has attracted a competitive line-up of fourteen three-year and above runners who will close in on the six furlong and sixty-three yards on Saturday, 30th June at Curragh. The Irish event will offer the winner €51,000 prize money.
The limelight entry for the race is Bubbly Bellini, Mull Of Kintyre’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Gwapa, who has refused to miss the last three races. He has raced ten times ever since the 2012 season took off, and could only dominate the seventh attempt of the season after which the success continued for the next two races too.
The Irish gelding won the Twilight BBQ Handicap (Division II) on 16th June, 2012 at Limerick over six and a half furlongs. The favourite winner of the race headed with 3 ¼ lengths with I. T. Brennan onboard.
Finishing the closest was San Jose City while filling up the third slot was, Wellmarked.
He then headed front in the Audi Sligo Handicap on 19th June, 2012 at Sligo over six and a half furlongs. This time too he won under the guidance of the same jockey but by the margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
Mountain Mama qualified as the runner up, and was soon followed by, Statue Of Dreams.
The Adrian McGuinness trained struck the seasonal hat trick by seizing the Ballyduane Stud handicap on 22nd June, 2012 at Limerick over six and a half furlongs.
For a third time in a row, Bubbly Bellini celebrated success with jockey, I. J. Brennan. Love Is The Key ended right behind after missing the race by two lengths, and catching up with the third position was, Landsdowne.
The 9 to 1 entry will race with the same jockey today and the dual will take it on from the ninth gate. A candidate to look out for is, Flameoftheforest, Danehill Dancer’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Coralita.
He was victorious in the Tsingtao Chinese Beer Classified Claiming Stakes on 9th June, 2012 at Chester over seven furlongs. He defeated Amazing Star by 2 ¾ lengths.
The 12 to 1 entry might make it challenging for Bubbly Bellini to make an easy crossing through the wire.
