Bubbly Phoenix likely to thrash the line-up for Williamhill.com Greyhound Derby 3rd Rnd Heat 1
With a wonderful strike rate under his belt, Bubbly Phoenix is all set to stamp his opponents in the Williamhill.com Greyhound Derby 3rd Round Heat 1, taking place at Wimbledon on Saturday, May 12th.
The white and black dog completed his hat-trick at the end of last month, beating Farloe Mysterio by seven and a quarter lengths. Although he was unable to display a winning performance last time around, one should not underestimate
his class.
In the last round of the Derby, the P. Young-trained was a bit rusty. Despite a clear run, he failed to notch up the top place and finished second by 1¾ lengths.
Nonetheless, one can expect the dashing hound to bag the winning prize with ease tonight. With the highest odds of 4 to 6, he will start the proceedings from the sixth trap.
According to the program, the 480 metres Flat heat is due to get underway at 20:40 GMT. A cash prize of £175 is reserved for the champion hound. Bubbly Phoenix is going to face a strong opposition including Longwood Hawk, You
Mind Me, Trewmount Snap and Kirkland Black
Longwood Hawk is also in great form these days. The dark brindle hound won three of the previous four races at this venue. In the last round of the Derby, he defeated Trewmount Snap by ¾ a length.
C. Callow’s trainee was not dominating the proceedings early on, but an excellent near-line-lead helped him bag the winning prize.
You Mind Me is aiming to register his fourth consecutive win at Wimbledon. In both of his previous races, the black and white dog clinched the top rank comprehensively. The previous round of the Derby saw him beating Go Go Sonic
by 1¾ lengths.
Trewmount Snap and Kirkland Black don’t have bright chances against this line-up. So, the pair is not worth considering.
The stats show that there will be a tug of war between Longwood Hawk and You Mind Me. Both runners will try their best to upset Bubbly Phoenix, who has the highest chance of winning tonight. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
