Aleksandr Bubnov has urged Dan Petrescu to extend Dynamo Moscow’s decent run in the Russian Premier League after defeating Mordovia Saransk on Sunday
Famous football expert, Aleksandr Bubnov, has shared his opinion on Anzhi Makhachkala’s chances to win the Russian Premier League title in the near future.
The Dagestani club are currently leading the league table with 26 points after recording one defeat, two draws and nine wins. Anzhi, meanwhile, are yet to lose a group stage game in the UEFA Europa League campaign.
Bubnov hailed the Makhachkala-based club, saying that the Russian outfit has all the capabilities to win the league title and credited Guus Hiddink for the team’s successful domestic campaign until now.
The former Dynamo Moscow man believes that the Wild-division have everything to cheer about, highlighting the fact that they have an experienced head coach and fantastic players in each line of play.
The Russian football analyst insisted that Anzhi did a fantastic piece of business to sign Lassana Diarra and Lacina Traore from Real Madrid and Kuban Krasnodar respectively during the summer transfer window.
“They have a decent goalkeeper the guys at the back are not weaker than any other team’s defenders in the Russian championship. They have quality midfielders who are arguable stronger than any other team in the league. Samuel Eto'o
and Traore are getting better with every game.”
“Given the fact that Anzhi can make necessary adjustments to their squad in January, they are the favourites to win the league if they keep working hard.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Byshovets went on to admit that the defending league champions, Zenit St. Petersburg, will give Anzhi a tough time in their quest to claim their first ever league title since the inception of Russian top division.
The fact that Dynamo Moscow recorded their fourth win of the ongoing league campaign against Mordovia Saransk pleases Byshovets, who has backed Dan Petrescu to extend his team’s winning run.
As things stand, the Dinamiki are at the 12th spot on the league table with 12 points and trail Anzhi by 17 points.
