Aleksandr Bubnov has suggested Slaven Bilic to test new methods after suffering defeat in the Russian Cup tie against Terek Grozny at Akhmad Arena on Wednesday
Former Russian national team coach, Aleksandr Bubnov, has hailed Anzhi Makhachkala’s great comeback in the Russian Cup round-of-16 against Krylia Sovetov Samara at Dynamo Stadium on Wednesday.
The Dagestani club moved to the quarter-finals of the tournament after coming from behind to score two second-half goals against the Wings of the Soviet at home. Sergei Petrov, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikita-Burmistrov-c27908 and Serder Serderov were among the
goal scorers in the cup tie.
Bubnov credited Guus Hiddink, the famous and experienced head coach who joined the Makhachkala-based club in January, for the club’s overall decent performances in the cup tournament.
The 65-year old made a couple of changes to his team that suffered their only second defeat of the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign against Rubin Kazan. However, the most noticeable change was Odil Ahmedov’s return to the
first team after recovering from an injury.
Bubnov insisted that the Dutch tactician deserves all the plaudits for a fine start to an unfamiliar league i.e. the Russian championship this term, and showered praise in his methods that caused their promising league campaign
this term.
“Hiddink is doing well ever since he has joined the Russian outfit. He coped with the pressure despite super-dense work schedule. The Dutch man substantially changed the starting line-up against Krylia, which tells that he knows
how to rotate the squad.”
“Andrei Kobelev wards failed to hold on their lead after scoring an early goal. Hiddink managed to put the team play in a way that even in the case of force majeure, it remains afloat. I think that this is the main conclusion to
this meeting.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Commenting on Lokomotiv Moscow below par start to the league campaign this term, Bubnov has blamed Slaven Bilic for their poor domestic form, saying that the Croatian coach needs to think out of the box in order to claim more points
on the league table.
The Moscow-based club are yet to win a league game since their 3-0 win against Terek Grozny back in September.
