In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Zenit St. Petersburg managed to claim a landmark 5-0 win over Spartak Moscow at Petrovsky stadium. This has been Spartak’s heaviest defeat since the inception of the Russian
championship.
The former Dynamo Moscow player, Aleksandr Bubnov, has insisted that he knew that the St. Petersburg club will win the match despite there was a prediction of a draw between the two sides prior to the thrilling encounter.
Though Spartak remained in the game at half-time when the score was 1-0, the visitors were left robbed after conceding four more goals in the second-half. Spartak could have got one back had they scored from the penalty-spot.
Bubnov revealed that the Moscow-based club, who managed to claim back-to-back wins against Alania Vladikavkaz, Volga Nizhny Novgorod and Dynamo Moscow, looked helpless on the pitch against Luciano Spalletti’s men.
The Russian football expert went on to criticize Spartak’s head coach tactics, saying that Unai Emery should have played the same composition which won 4-0 against the Moscow-based club last week.
“I do not understand how he could play Gatagov in an important game? Spartak failed to put pressure on the opponents and lacked pace to create attacking moments.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Bubnov revealed that Zenit deserved the victory as they were playing without their main strikers: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergei-Semak-c32976, meanwhile, failed to start the match after reportedly sustaining
an ankle injury.
The 56-year-old went onto praise Domenico Criscito, admitting that the Italian defender was on top of his game.
Commenting on Lokomotiv Moscow’s 2-2 draw against Alania Vladikavkaz, Bubnov has told Slaven Bilic, the Railroaders manager, to work on the team’s defence. The Moscow-based club conceded two equalizers during the match.
Bubnov revealed that the Moscow-based club would have won the match against the Russian top division’s newcomers had they scored a goal from the penalty spot late in the game.
