Aleksandr Bubnov is delighted with Zenit St. Petersburg’s 2-1 win in the Russian Cup tie against FC Baltika Leningrad at Stadion Baltika on Tuesday
Famous football expert, Aleksandr Bubnov, has shared his thoughts about the victory of the defending Russian Premier League champions, Zenit St. Petersburg, in the Russian Cup Round-of-16 clash against the Russian First Division
side, FC Baltika.
Though the St. Petersburg club dominated the pitch for most of the time during the match after scoring two early goals, they conceded one and were about to give the host team a reason to cheer by allowing them to score an equalizer
late in the game.
Luciano Spalletti, who has punished http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 for an indefinite period of time after the Russian players started a fuss over salary issues, started the match with Aleksandr
Bukharov and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vladimir-Bystrov-c36328.
And while Bukharov and Bystrov struggled to meet their expectations, Aleksandr Bubnov has urged the Russian national team players to improve if they are to get more playing time on the pitch in the near future.
Bukharov remained on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes while Bystrov made way for promising striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maksim-Kanunnikov-c23221.
Bubnov insisted that the defending champions put in a weak performance against the underdogs despite winning the match.
“I think that most of the players did not impress. They made their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 difficult at the end of the match despite taking a two goal lead. The players need to make most of their first-team chances when the coach decided to rotate
the squad for these kinds of matches.”
“I understand that Zenit trusts Bukharov after paying a lot of money for his transfer but the player failed to take his chances ever since making his move from Rubin Kazan. It seems that the attacker is struggling with his confidence
at the moment.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Speaking on the 18-year-old midfielder, Aleksei Yevseyev, Bubnov lavished praise on the youngster, saying that the Russian player has a bright future ahead of him if he will keep learning from seniors.
