Buccaneers’ Coach Raheem Morris believes his youngsters can go 10-6 this season – NFL News
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 0-3 this month with an overall record of 4-6 which sees them third in the National Football Conference South. With no wins since an October 16th 26-20 victory over the New Orleans Saints the
Bucs have lost four straight games.
Coach Raheem Morris however believes that his young squad has the ability and skills to go the rest of the season unbeaten starting with Sunday’s game against an inconsistent Tennessee Titans side ending at 10-6.
"I told them we have six more and ... we've got to knock off one at a time," Morris told the St. Petersburg Times on Monday. "You've got to play each game and there's still time to get hot. We can still finish with the same record
we had last year if we got our minds right and we go out and play hard and fast, physical and smart."
Running back LeGarrette Blount who shocked Green Bay Packers after muscling through six defenders to score a 54 yard touchdown also seems in good spirits about the rest of the season and parroted his Coach’s optimism
"We're 4-6 and I know we still have a chance," running back LeGarrette Blount said. "We split with the Saints and we beat Atlanta. We have to win out the rest of the way and that's our plan. We still have a chance of going 10-6."
The optimism from the Buccaneers may come from their good performance against League leaders and unbeaten Super Bowl Champions Green Bay Packers. The Bucs put up a solid fight against Packers and could have even emerged surprise
winners in the fourth quarter of the match. Dezmon Briscoe scored a touchdown after a 2 yard pass from quarterback Josh Freeman with four minutes left on the clock to bring the Bucs just two points behind Packers at 26-28.
However, luck was not on Buccaneers side as they messed up an on field kick with Packers recovering possession. The Bucs went on to lose the game 35-26 after Aaron Rodgers sent a 40 yard pass toward Jordy Nelson to score the touchdown.
Tampa Bay now has a run of relatively easier games starting with Tennessee Titans and will be looking to get back to winning ways repaying their Coach’s confidence in their ability.
