Buck Magic, the shining entry for the Bathwick Tyres Yeovil Handicap Hurdle on 18th February
Wincanton is to stage the Bathwick Tyres Yeovil Handicap Hurdle, raced over two miles and six furlongs on Saturday, 18th February. The race has attracted a lineup of fifteen runners and offers a purse of £5, 848 to the winner.
The six-year-old with the most reliable credentials is Albano’s bay gelding out of mare Green Sea, Buck Magic, who is unbeaten since his last three starts. He has not raced through the 2011 season.
Buck Magic won the 4YO Maiden on 18th April at Kilmallock with ten others competing on the three mile track. Turtle Boys was the 2/1 favourite for the race and finished fourth after the winner.
He was sent as a 11/10 favourite in the Total Star Radio Somerset 102.4 Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race on 26th October 2010 at Taunton. He won the race leading by 2 ¾ lengths on a track raced over by seven participants.
Taking the winning streak to three and qualifying for a hat trick, Buck Magic won the South West Racing Club Novices’ Hurdle on 18th November at Wincanton. The 8/15 favourite of the race, Vico was second with fourteen others reeling in for the wire.
Buck Magic is making a start after more than a year and has the potential to claim the race and adding more strings to the hat trick.
Achimota, Double Eclipse’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare Tullyfoyle has been placed in his last two starts and is moving on for his seasonal debut today. He was third in the Dapple Grey “National Hunt” Maiden Hurdle with Poole Master, the 11/8 favourite winner of the race.
His final race for the previous season translated into a victory as he claimed the Jump Season On Racing UK “Fixed Brush” Handicap Hurdle on 30th December at Haydock.
Six-year-old bay gelding, Rolling Aces trained by Paul Nicholls won the Coolmore NH Sires & Hornibrooks Garage 5YO Geldings Maiden on 20th March at Lismore as a 1 to 2 favourite. On 17th November, Rolling Aces won the South West Racing Club Novices’ Hurdle and was the 8/15 favourite runner up in the Weatherbys Private Banking Novices’ Hurdle. The race was won by Imperial Circus.
