Buckers Bridge keen to perpetuate his unbeaten record
Some people say that Buckers Bridge is born to win only. This notion is true as the Henry De Bromhead trained bay gelding has proved his talent in all of his total three starts so far. With three consecutive triumphs at three different venues, the Irish horse has gained a lot of confidence and energy that he will apply to bring home the ace title of the Ballymore Christmas Fair & Family Fun November Festival Beginners Chase on Wednesday, October 31.
The high-stakes race of €8,280 will go down at Punchestown, the same course where he ran and won last time. Thus, the novice runner’s familiarity with the ground will help him execute his momentum properly.
However, the surface will be quite different from the one he faced in the previous trip. The track of 2 miles and 4 furlongs has soft soil.
But this is not going to be a problem for the young gelding as he has experienced such sort of race conditions too. The only thing he needs to do is to sustain his stamina.
The son of Pelder out of La Fiere Dame has been out of action since his last outing of April 26. During the six-month break, he has done a lot of workout to improvise his techniques and talent. It is hoped that he will be able to make a strong and stunning comeback.
The M. A. Molloy bred horse started his career in November 2011, winning 5yo Geldings Maiden (Div 2) by three lengths. It was a magnificent start indeed.
He stepped ahead to seal top spot in the Bennettsbridge Point-To-Point INH Flat Race that took place at Gowran Park on March 10, 2012.
Buckers Bridge completed his hat-trick by winning the Kildare Post INH Flat Race at Punchestown on April 26. He beat the 7-2 favourite candidate, Morning Royalty, by the huge margin of 9½ lengths.
Thus, the enthusiastic horse is awash with form and zeal at the moment. He is likely to be a big source of entertainment in today’s contest. Let us enjoy the race and see how Buckers Bridge manages to win.
