I will be traveling to the Philadelphia area later this month and want to find out information on area golf courses north of the city in Bucks County, Pa. Any suggestions would be helpful!

  1. Fairways is a nice short course. Island Green is okay. But there are a lot of very nice public courses in the area. Makefield Highlands is the newest and is a very popular course. It is right off Route 95 so it is very convenience.

Bensalem has a nice muni, and Northampton Valley in Richboro is fine. Warminster has a good course called Five Ponds.

I found a lot of information on www.golfbuckscounty.com which is a local web site my sister turned me on to. It was a big help as there is a course listing section.

  2. I grew up in Warrington, working at and playing at Fairways. It's a pretty decent short course just off Rt. 132 (Street Rd.) north of Rt. 611 (Easton Rd.). Another decent course is Five Ponds, a few miles south of Rt. 611, on Rt. 132, between Warminster and Warrington. Both courses are on the east side of 132 (your right side heading north on 132).

  3. I played Island Green Country Club a few months ago while visiting. I dont live around Philly so this is the only course I have played in the area. I would give it an 8 of 10. It might be a little nicer now since the summer has arrived, I played in the spring. I think it was something like $55 on the weekend.

  4. We used to live in Bucks (New Hope) and would play Fairways in Warrington, a decent public course.
