Bucks Yahoo set to miss Scurry Cup
This could well be the end of the line for Gold Cup champions Bucks Yahoo.
Chris Lund’s speedy hound, who had been prominent in the market for next month’s National Sprint at Nottingham, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after tearing a gracils muscle during an open race at Nottingham. A decision on the future of his racing career is expected to be made within the next couple of days after his operation. Bucks Yahoo, who is owned by Fred Ellison, is no stranger to injuries. He missed a big part of the season owing to an injury picked up in his preparation for the Derby.
His rapid rise to market leader for the showpiece event at Nottingham came about because of his incredible performance at the track last month, where he demolished a field which included top sprinters Slick Citi and Rotar Wing.
“It looks bad and you wouldn’t be confident he’ll race again,” said Lund in a statement.
“All we can do is give him plenty of time to heal and see where we stand next year.”
The withdrawal of Yahoo from the race has now given the market a rather top heavy look to it, with star sprinter, and greyhound of the year elect, Jimmy Lollie and Rotar Wing way clear of their other rivals in the betting.
