  1. 100% proof that God exists!

  2. That's pretty interesting to hear, because 3 years ago, my cousin from Australia told me that Evangelical Christianity is the fastest growing religion down there.

Incidentally, both my cousin & I are Catholic.

  3. i suspect it's because buddhism is kind and non-judgemental  altho I myself don't believe that any religion is needed to be a good human being.

  4. It is a very peaceful religion, supports coexistence and tolerance, unlike the muslims who feel they must dominate the world.

  5. You don't "convert" to Buddhism mate. You can be a Buddhist and a Christian, or a Buddhist and a Muslim. It's perfectly okay to do that. I know people who are Buddhist and atheist.

Buddhism is certainly a spiritual path, and perhaps even a religion, but it is definitely non-theist in nature, so you don't have to believe in any particular God.

Buddha himself is not depicted as God, EVER---he was a man just like us. An exceptional man, to be sure, of extreme clarity and wisdom, but still a man who lived and died.

  6. I think a lot of people are attracted to some of the ideals behind Buddhism, while at the same time knowing very little about the religion. My sister, for example, likes to tell everyone she's a Buddhist whereas in reality the only thing she has in common with Buddha is that they're both fat!

  7. Yes, Australia, which has a higher per capita murder and assault rate than the USA is "peaceful"?

That's all sixes and sevens, [Meshuggeneh], you wanker.

It's probably because those "down under" are all on the "down low".

Otherwise, who can say? Then again, a country made up of the descendants of convicted felons is not likely to excell in intellectual matters, eh?

Be glad it isn't Mormonism that's sweeping Australia, then the bloody Aussies would be in real trouble.

I've been to bloody Sydney and noticed they had the nicest g*y bars, and Buddhism is pretty g*y too, which might explain things adequately, mate.

Oy Gevalt! What's the World coming to? The Aussies are all turning Buddhists, and the Tibetans are all turning...uh, what are they becoming.....oppressed?

And I'm not a bloody Muslim, I'm a Pastafarian.  [Like a Rastafarian but less pot and Reggae.]  And I'm originally from Ethiopia and can assure you that no Buddhists exist in Ethiopia because we ate the last one.

  8. Because people need truth and truth set one free and Budhdhism is giving it to them

who wouldnt want to have the advantage of teachings that set them free from soul sickening ideas of h**l, satan and sin..who doesnt want happiness and freedom ??

I really dont know how Mark claims he knows enough to comment..because he is confusing the feng shui laughing Budhdha with Lord Budhdha LOL...one should see the beauty of enlightened souls..facts apart that Lord Budhdha was actualy beautiful as far as appearance is concerned too

  9. My own guess, would be that a lot of people want something that is spiritual in nature to grasp on to, yet at the same time do not wish to be dictated on how it is they must live.  They do not wish to live a life full of guilt.

Buddhism, is a means to connect to your spirituality while at the same time not requiring dogma (it is there, but not required to be a buddhist) nor making one feel as though they are worthless, and need to repent.

Buddhism offers a lot of flexibility.
