Business is a failure. Should he talk to his "n**i" landlord that is unlikely to cut him any breaks, or should he quit paying rent and try to make as much money as he can until he's kicked out?

  1. The landlord is NOT responsible for the business failing and is legally entitled to his rent -NOT MATER WHAT!

Sorry -but if your friend can't pay the rent - they have to vacate.

  2. I would go to the McCain campaign office in your town and ask what those people can do for him. Since the economy is doing fine they should be able to help out.

  3. Yes! In this economy it is unlikely that his landlord will be ble to rent or sell this property very quicklly and would rather trust his efforts than start anew with someone else.

  4. If he quits paying rent, he is going to have to pay it sooner or later or be sued and get a judgment against him.

A judgment would cause damage to his credit and allow the landlord to garnish bank accounts, wages, tax returns or put liens on property.

Judgments can be renewed for up to 20 years. Also, when a court orders a judgment, the tenant is ordered to pay for the court costs (added into judgment) and interest on the judgment.
