Budget apartments in Rome if traveling with 2 toddlers.?

Question

i will be traveling to rome with my friend and her two children (both under the age of 3) in February. We plan to stay a week. From research apartments are our best bet and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions. Because we are traveling with 2 kids a central location would be preferrable. any info will help.
