Budget bulk accomodation for 1-2 days -Chennai?

I am getting married soon.I am going to be getting loads of 'out-of station' guests for a day or two,like a 100 or so.It works out to be pretty expensive trying to accomodate them in single/double hotel rooms.Is there a cheaper alternative?If so kindly mention rate/day.I live in Vadapalani,Chennai.Need the accomodation to be close by.

In Vadapalani, look for Mr. Aishwiri.  A private residence that is also used like an american bed and breakfast.  Very nice rates per day. usually better than most double hotel rooms.  has an advertisement in paper every week.

Depending upon the season, you may find university housing vacant, and available for rent very cheaply.
