What do you recommend for budget stay for a few days near U of Calgary in early May? I know there is a place called Motel Village, but reviews are not really appealing. And constructive advises appreciated.

  1. Apparently SAIT (Southern Alberta Istitute of Technolgy) opens up their residences for the summer, I'm just not sure if they'll be open at the beginning of May. You can take the C-train from SAIT right to the U of C. Check out this website for more details: http://www.hostelz.com/hostels/Canada/Al...

Otherwise, the HI hostel  and Auberge Chez Nous are both right downtown, like a block away from the 3rd st east C-Train Station (though you'd have to transfer trains) or 4 blocks away from the Olympic Plaza station (Which you would catch the Dalhousie/Crowfoot train and wouldn't have to transfer). Its not exactly close to the U of C but the C-train goes right to the campus, its like a 15 minute ride. The only problem about relying on the C-train is that it only runs until 1:20 am.

Motel Village is conveniently locate on the C-train line and there are quite a few restaurants in the area and the lame North Hill Mall is fairly close as well. There just isn't much to do in the area.
