I just woke up and I saw my dad with the 2 budgies in the tub, there was water filled up to their waist and my dad threw water all over them and we took em out and now there really wet and I think they're cold, then my dad just dried them off, are my budgies going to die?

Also, a piece of the tail came off, the longest one.

  1. To answer the question about the tail.   If a tail feather came out it will regrow, no problem.   If the feather broke off and is bleeding, you need to pull feather out, so it does not continue to bleed.   You can also put a bit of flour on broken part of feather, to help the bleeding stop.  If bleeing stops, just leave it be.  It will molt out when bird goes through normal molt.

To answer are they going to die.   Not if you keep them warm for a bit, and out of draft.   Budgies can get wet, no problem, but do give them a bird bath in their cage, like a shallow bowl of water that  they can go in on their own.  A draft can make them sick .   Why did your father put the birds in the tub.   That is the main question.  Maybe you should get him a rubber duck he can play with in the tub, and not your birds. Just keep them way from your father, and they will be fine.  Please buy a book on budgies, it will answer a lot of your questions.

  2. i jsut gave my parakeet a bath today, i brought im in the shower with me he seems to love the water, when i took him in my room i just closed the window and stopped the draft. as long as the bird has no intense breze on it it should be fine
