  1. Hello, im kayla. im 13 years old and have 3 chinchillas.

Though chinchilllas are nice and cuddely, there very hard and expencisve to take care of.

    Think of it this way.

Are you able to spend time with them for at least 2 hours aday? are you able to let him run throughout your home for 1 hour a day?

Id hope you know much about chinchillas before you look into having one. There fur gets madded and you CAN NOT GIVE THEM BATHS. they have to roll around in a special dust.

they must have fresh food and water DAILY.

    Good luck with your choice.

  2. Chinchillas aren't cuddly.

Pretty much the only time they'll want anything to do with you is if you're holding a treat.  LOL!

They're awake (and loud) all night.

    They're more "look only" pets.

Parakeets make good pets.  They aren't as talkative or interactive as a cockatiel or a parrotlet, but if you want a small bird you can hold on your finger they're great.

    Great small pets:

Guinea pigs.  They're smart, cuddly, and adore people.

    Cocktiels and Parrotlets (see above)

Rats.  Amazingly, rats make great pets.  Sweet, cuddly, smart and they like people.

  3. A chinchilla...but that's because I like furry animals more than feathery ones. My budgie wasn't very hardy..

  4. chinchilla definatley

  5. Well we have chinnies and not birds, but they both are very interesting creatures. Budgies are easier to keep, too.

And if you properly socialize your chinnie early on, they do not mind being cuddled and absolutely LOVE being scratched behind the ears and under the chin. They don't really sit on your lap long because they enjoy bouncing around the room, but one of ours enjoys sitting on my shoulder when I lean back against the couch and he takes treats from my hand up there.

Chinnies' habitat requirements are more expensive than a budgie's, too.
