Budgie question!help!?

i already got a budgie for about to weeks it kinda trust me but it dont seem very happy it gots plenty of toys a huge cage but stil it dont do anything but sit there i put my budgie on its water bowl and the nest morning it was still in the same exact place this has happened more than once but im getting a male budgie for my girl budgie tomorrow should i just put him in the cage or seperate them for a while what should i do?

seperate them for a while put the cages side by side for a week i'd say after that you can put them together

budgies are birds that live in groups and are better off in pairs because they have someone to socialize with

Keep a tv or radio on when your not in their until you get another bird for her.

hi,

whats best for you is when u picked out a few budgies colours you like, let ur female go in there and choose from those few.. giviing her a choice is a good thing so that she will feel comfortable and happy with the male you buy. If not, if you hand picked a male by yrself without consulting your female budgie, they might end up fighting at the start which can be a real problem.

I dont have budgies but I have 4 lovebirds, 1 Quaker parrot..

Its best if u show them respect and their space to choose. :) It makes them a healthier bird.

Anyway,regarding your budgie sitting on an area and not moving,

she is probably not used to the new home and she just needs some time to get use to and needs your attention.

Play with her and talk to her more often.

Make it a daily routine to bring her out of the cage for at least 5mins, be it watching tv or eating a snack.

But if her behaviour continues like this for a few weeks and she puffs up her feathers when sleeping or have dull eyes or her feathers are uncleaned, its a sign that she might be sick!

do bring her to a vet!
