  1. 1. You can go to a  pet store that sells bird cages and purchase a budgie starter kit which includes perches, food, swing, possibly bell, food and water dishes, spray millet and a calcium stone which I can't think of the name.

    2. Budgie seeds, assortment of fruit and veggies. Don't give too many because they will end up going bad, so you only want to leave it in the cage for an hour or two, then discard. Apples are a good choice, but look online for what they can and cannot have. Don't give too much spray millet because it's high in fat and if your bird doesn't exercise much, he will gain weight.

    3. Get a bell (if it didn't come with the kit), a mirror, and maybe another toy.  Your budgie might be afraid of it if it's never seen something like that before. So you can put it on the exterior of the cage and slowly move it towards the door of the cage day by day, and finally put it in the cage.

    4. If you want to be able to handle your budgie, get it young and from a breeder.

    5. You can put sandpaper over the perches (they sell them that covers the perches), but don't put it on all of them. They are used to help file down the claws, but can irritate the feet. Cover your bird at night so he knows that it's bed time. Have a schedule for day and night. Uncover at 8am, cover at 8pm. The bottom should be shredded paper, thin layer so you can keep an eye on the amount of droppings. If you plan on having him out of the cage but don't want him to fly, get his wings professionally clipped and always have a towel with you wherever he goes, so it doesn't fall on you. BATH: either get a plastic bath in the cage or mist him. Don't use cold water, use warm water in the bath and hot water in the sprayer (it won't be hot on the budgie, test it out on your hand first and you'll see, it's just so he doesn't get a shock from it.) Don't put his cage near a window or an air vent, he will get sick. You can bring his cage outside, but just watch for cats and such. If he's alone alot, get a companion.

    Hope that helps.

  2. 1. 1.5 foot wide * 1.3 foot deep * 1.3 foot tall cage is good for a budgie

    2. you can feed it bird seeds, corn, apples, broccoli, and grapes can be fed to your budgie but they should all be organic

    3. you should get multiple toys for you budgie and put at least 2-3 toys in the cage at once and rotate them every once in a while

    4. buy a young budgie from a breeder if you want to bond with it if you but these cost more and if you dont then buy older ones at a pet store but if you are trying to save up $ and want to bond with it then buy 1 budgie from a pet store and here are some tips on how to tame it on this web site http://www.freewebs.com/charliefeathers/...

    5. after you buy it dont touch it and leave it alone for a while until it settles down, and if your debating about to clip or not to clip its wings you should because its safer and also budgies are great pets except they are messy eaters but you can get a cage liner for it
