Budgie with a Abscess?

My 4 month budgie has an abscess about half the size of a 5c piece on it's belly for 1 - 2 weeks. Other than seeing a vet, what else can I do to get rid of it and possible infection? Do I leave it to heal? Please help!

No with something like that your bird may be suffering, take it to a vet. The thing with birds is they try to hide their sicknessess and illnessess, because in the wild the flock would kill them so the sick bird doesn't get the whole flock sick. If you so any signs when it comes to birds bring it to your vet immediately.

If you want your bird to be as healthy as possible I recommend a pettet diet, its way better than seed diets. I use to have my birds getting sick all the time when I had them on the seed diet, when I switched to pellets a few years ago I haven't had one problem yet.
