Budgies with bright pink feet ?

My next door neighbour have 4 budgies , and 1 have just died . They have no clue how they have died , and they are worried for their other budgies . One has just died and the other one is sick . The only symtoms is bright pink feet . They have checked for a gas leak but everything is clear . Please tell me what you think . No silly answers please .

i don't know if the bright pink feet are sympotms, cos when my budgie was ill his feet when very pale, and he was ill, then dided within a few days.... but im not an expec t on them so best ask a vet for advice

Ive never heard of pink feet being a sign of illness in a budgie. Most budgies have grey feet- but you can find them with pink feet on occasion. Are your neighbours sure the budgies feet changed colour?

How old are the birds? It could have died of old age, or something could have spooked it.

If another budgie is sick what are its symptoms?

If there was a gas leak they would all have died, so it couldnt have been anything like that.

Your neighbours should take the sick budgie out of the cage and seperate it to see if it recovers. They should really consider consulting a vet.

Oh my God- that's heartbreaking. I just bought two parakeets two days ago and am already completely captivated by them. I would urge them to take the sick one to a vet as soon as possible. If it has something contagious it might infect the other birds.

Normally pink feet is due to a lack of pigment and I've never heard of it being a symptom. Are they lightly coloured? Is the sick one eating normally with no visible swellings or problems. I advise you immediately take it to the vet, as budgies act strong and healthy as much as possible. They do this so in the wild they aren't picked on by predators.
