Anzhi Makhachkala claimed the top-spot on the Russian Premier League table after winning the latest round of Russian Premier League action 2-0 against Dynamo Moscow at Arena Khimki on Sunday.
Budun Budunov could not hide his excitement to see his former club claiming atop the league table spot for the first time in their entire history, saying that Anzhi deserved their place on the league table after showing consistency
in their performances.
The Russian striker, who scored two goals in 12 appearances during his stay with the ambitious Russian outfit back in 2007, hailed Anzhi’s win against the Moscow-based club on the away turf.
Anzhi managed to claim all three points against the White-blues despite playing with a man down. Joao Carlos was sent off in the tenth minute of the enthralling encounter after making a two footed challenge.

Budunov urged his former club to extend their decent run domestically, saying that they are capable of winning the league title this season.
The 39-year-old heaped praise on Lassana Diarra, saying that the French midfielder dominated the middle of the park and was on top of the opposition during their latest win against the Musora.
“Diarra had a great match as he put in a tremendous amount of work. The Frenchman managed to dominate the midfield region. In general, he helped the club in their quest to claim top-spot in the league.” The former FC Moscow player
