Buenos Aires, Argentina visit?

I am a 25 yr old american man visiting Buenos Aires for two days next week, how is it? safe? things to do? things to eat? anything I should now? anything to do for a good time that isnt a normal in the United States?

There is so much to do I can't even list it all. The city NEVER sleeps. The Porteños don't even start going out until like 1am. The clubs/bars stay open until either like 5 or 7 am depending on where you are. I felt safer in the middle of the city at like midnight than I feel in some cities in the US during the day!

   You can go to live tango shows, take dance lessons, do amazing shopping, stay at hostel-you will save money and meet people from all over the world and it is a very chill atmosphere. 2 days simply isn't enough but it will give you a taste and you will want to go back trust me. Argentina is the meat capital of the world so of course you need to have some beef while you are there(hopefully you are not a vegetarian), you must try media lunas, mate, dulce de leche, facturas, milanesa, flan, empanadas, tortilla española, any pasta dish and so much more.

    There are entire streets dedicated to just the theater or just shopping...so believe me your 2 days will be jam packed with things to do. There are also really cool ferias(fairs/flea markets) where you can find unique and amazing things for cheap....not sure what days you are going so it might not be happening but if it is you should def go. They have everything from clothes to jewelry to you name it! If you have time you should see jardin botanico and jardin japones. I didn't get a chance to while I lived there not sure why I didn't go but I Hear they are amazing! There is so much I could tell you but then this would go on forever. Buenos Aires has its crime as does every where else just be smart. Be careful in cabs they will try to rip you off so know where you are going or about where you need to go and how much it should cost before you get in the cab. DO NOT carry large amounts of money on you and carry your backpack/money pouch whatever infront of you so you can see or feel it at all times. They appreciate it if you atleast try to speak their language so if you can, try to speak in Spanish to show respect-but if you know absolutely non...no worries most people in the capital speak English as well.

Fun places to go: San Telmo, La Casa Rosada(their white house except it's pink!), La Boca, La Recoleta, Plaza de Mayo, Teatro Colon, calle Florida(all pedestrian street dedicated to shopping).

So just have fun, try new things, respect the culture and be smart!

Buenos aires is a wonderful city.. Its in the winter season now, so you need to take a few sweaters and pants etc..

Yes, it is safe in Buenos Aires. And it is very cold right now! You must bring a very thick jacket, gloves and a scarf. In Buenos Aires you will have plenty of things to see and do:

-Recoleta: is a very nice neighbourood with lots of restaurants and pubs. Good nightlife.

-Palermo: another nice neighbourhood to visit.

-Puerto Madero: lots of restaurants and discos, nice boardwalk.

-If you are there on a Sunday, visit San Telmo. In there there is a square called Plaza Dorrego where you can buy antiques and see people dancing Tango.

-Places to eat: In Recoleta there is an excellent parrilla (bbq) called "Parrilla Recoleta". In Puerto Madero there is the famous "Sigue la vaca" another parrilla.

If you see a place where they sell "empanadas" try empanadas de roquefort, and of course the nice wine they have! If you like desserts try Dulce de leche and alfajores.
