Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix confirms QB Tarvaris Jackson replaces Vince Young – NFL News
The troubled quarterback Vince Young has landed in further difficulties by losing Buffalo Bills’ job as general manager Buddy Nix said the arrangement with the QB simply did not work out for them.
Vince’s release looked inevitable after the Bills signed Tarvaris Jackson for the backup QB job and the management did not take much time after successfully negotiating terms with Tarvaris to confirm Young's waiver.
Buddy Nix in his post-cut remarks said:
"Vince, I don't want to get into what he can do and can't do, it just didn't work out. We just need to move on and give this guy a try."
The GM added:
"Maybe getting in the right place and the right system, he'll blossom. He's bounced around a little bit, but who knows, we'll give it a try. We know he's got the ability to do it, and we'll see if he can produce."
He attempted to play down if the player’s off-field issues were behind the decision of letting him go, which seems less likely to be the case. Indirectly, those issues might be responsible in affecting the QB's form as he has been seen to be inconsistent
in his performance, which had closely been watched by the team coaches.
Young recently made headlines because of a controversy over a company loan. While the player expressed complete ignorance to making a request for a high-risk loan, the company claimed he has to pay about $1.7 million hefty interest rate.
The matter is now pending before the New York state Supreme Court for a formal hearing but it certainly has disturbed the player. His lawyer has showed concerns in the court filing that the company people were consistently on his trail and the chase had
been affecting his career, which he was trying to put back on track.
Now the release is expected to make him face some financial hardships unless he gets another opportunity from elsewhere in the National Football League (NFL) straightaway.
So far the player has not been linked to a potential move to another team in the league. A period of uncertainty is expected to surround his immediate prospects in the meantime.
